Woman charged after pedestrian struck by car 0
A 32-year-old Collingwood woman faces several charges after a man was struck by a car, early Sunday morning.
According to the Collingwood OPP, the man was walking through the intersection at Pine and Fourth around 2:30 a. m. when he was hit; the driver fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the General & Marine Hospital, then transported to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto where he remains.
Police have not released his condition.
While officers were investigating the crash, the suspected driver responsible returned to the scene. Officers determined the woman was under the influence of alcohol, and she was arrested and taken to the detachment for breath tests.
The woman has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, failing to remain at the scene, dangerous driving, and having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
She was scheduled for a bail court hearing on Sunday morning.
