This fair will have a touch of the medieval
Hopefully, this bash won't include a witch-burning.
The Great Northern Medieval Fayre, which organizers are calling "Ontario's newest and most exciting festival", is headed to the Great Northern Exhibition Fairgrounds at the beginning of June.
Thefayrewill offer "jousting knights in shining armour, fighting Vikings, Merlin the Magician and an array of bright, talented artisans and more," said coordinator Linda Laforge.
"Can you imagine a Medieval Fayre so close to home?," she asked. "A colourful cast of medieval musicians, artisans, falconers, archers, merchants and jousting Knights in shining armour on horseback converging right here in Simcoe County.
"Of course, our jousters, an active troupe who provide an accurate and authentic representation from medieval times are ready to jump on their horses. The horses, costumes, armour and weapons are all authentically reproduced," she added.
