Hospital launching $10 million campaign 0
COLLINGWOOD - The General & Marine Hospital has launched a $10 million campaign for new diagnostic imaging equipment and a health record system.
Jory Pritchard-Kerr of the G&M Hospital Foundation announced the campaign - the New Age of Care - at Monday night's council meeting.
She also asked councillors to consider upping the town's annual contribution to the hospital, from $1 per household to $1.25, during its budget discussion later this month.
"It's a small amount, but it will really add up for us," she said.
Among the items the foundation is looking at buying for the hospital include a $2 million CT scanner, $1 million for a new x-ray to replace the unit purchased in 1993, $700,000 for a digital mammography unit, $2.5 million for a communications system for health records, and $3.5 million for an electronic medical health record system.
