Owls claw back to edge Joan of Arc

The Senior Boys Fighting Owls soccer team hosted long-time rivals Joan of Arc in what became a stressful and exciting "barn burner" match, Wednesday.

The game started out slow as the Owls found themselves down by two goals after the conclusion of the first half. Approximately three minutes into the second half, Kevin O'Halloran changed the mood of the game with a strong strike into the back of Joan of Arc's net.

Two minutes later, Tanner Wihby brought the Owls level with Joan of Arc with a howitzer of a free kick that seemed to break a piece off the keeper as it travelled to the back of the net.

Shortly later, Joan of Arc took the lead again. Matthew Sinikivi tied the game for the Owls with hard strike into the back of the net.

The two teams again exchanged goals, bringing the score to a 4-4 tie.

The Owls conceded two quick goals, leaving them trailing 6-4 with only 15 minutes remaining.

However, the Owls press Joan of Arc's defence and clawed their way to a 7-6 victory by netting three late goals. Matthew Sinikivi and Tanner Wihby each had hat tricks in the game.
