Actress Amanda Bynes has been released on $5,000 bail following her arrest for driving under the influence (DUI).

The Hairspray star was busted early on Friday after clipping the back of a police patrol car while driving through West Hollywood, three days after celebrating her 26th birthday.

According to a police statement issued to People.com, there was "minor paint transfer damage to both vehicles".

Bynes spent several hours in custody before being released later on Friday.
