Cedar Run to hold 3 A-level events during summer 0

BLUE MOUNTAINS -- The Cedar Run Horse Park has expanded its Alevel calendar for this summer.

After the success of last year's Equine Canada Gold-sanctioned A-level event, the park will now hold two in July and then a third in August.

The Cedar Run Classic will run from July 4 to 8 with the Cedar Run Tournament set for July 11 to 15.

Competitors must compete in one of the two events to qualify for a spot in the Cedar Run Blue Mountain Celebration which runs from Aug. 8 to 12.

Most divisions will include special qualifying classes in order for riders to qualify for the August finale.

There will be feature classes that run across all three events. They'll feature $250,000 in prize money including a $6,000 pony classic, a $10,000 Open hunter classic, a $12,000 Adult/Child hunter classic, the $20,000 Canadian Hunter Derby and a $50,000 modified grand prix.

"We're going to have something for everyone from the beginner short stirrup pony rider all the way up to the professional grand prix rider and everyone in between," show manager Roy Fish said in a release.

Approximately 600 horses are expected at each event which will be an increase of 50% from last year.

Competitors can register for the events at www.showmate.net.

More information on them can be found at www.cedarrun.ca.
