Pair charged for vending machine break-ins

COLLINGWOOD - Two men have been charged, after two vending machines outside a west-end store were broken into early Monday morning.

According to the Collingwood OPP, officers were dispatched to the store just after midnight, after witnesses spotted two suspects breaking into the machines outside Wal-Mart. Police say the suspects were able to get into the machines, and make off with the coins.

After a brief search, officers found two men in a vehicle nearby; police say officers found the men in possession of a large number of coins, and several hand tools.

A 35-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with possession of stolen property, and possession of marijuana. A 39-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with mischief over $5,000, theft under $5,000, breach of probation, and possession of marijuana.

The 39-year-old was held for a bail hearing in Barrie.
