COLLINGWOOD -- Jean Vanier Catholic High School students heading to Kenya this week prepared for their trip in a different fashion.
Last Wednesday, the students participated in an approximately mile-long "water walk," where students walked with large containers to Sunset Point, filled it them with water, and walked back to school carrying them.
"It's a lot harder than you think," said Aisling Doolan as she carried alarge container.
"We're hoping to gain perspective on something they do every day," said Ariel le Dagenais, "especially for the people that aren't going to Kenya, we're giving them perspective on something they would never do."
The students will be building a school in a village called Oleshwa.
They hope by building a school, they will also build a community.
