Get ready for lots of rain: NVCA 0

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority says significant rainfall is expected across the watershed over the next 24 hours.

Rain accumulation up to 50 mm is predicted by tonight (Friday), resulting in the potential for elevated flows in all watercourses throughout the watershed.

The NVCA says flows could remain high on these watercourses for the next few days.

Fast flowing water and slippery river banks could pose a significant hazard, it's noted. The public and especially children are advised to stay away from all area water bodies with high flows.

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority continues to monitor river and stream conditions and will issue additional messages as conditions warrant. This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect until Sunday.
