Climber airlifted to Toronto after fall

CLEARVIEW TWSP - A Toronto man is in hospital with life threatening injuries after a fall during a rock climbing expedition in Devil’s Glen Provincial Park Sunday.

 

OPP were called to the park just after noon Sunday, when they received a call concerning the accident.

Reports indicate that a climbing club from Toronto attempted to climb a rock face. While two members of this group were in the process of ascending this rock face one of the members fell approximately 30 feet when "cams" (rope securing devices that are place into rock crevices) did not hold.

Clearview Fire department extricated the injured climber.

A 38-year-old man from Toronto was airlifted to a hospital in Toronto in stable condition but with life threatening injuries.
