Re: High Flyers
Helena Guergis is not alone among MPs in Simcoe County when you look at the MPs who spent the most on those taxpayer-funded partisan mailings. While Guergis spent the 2nd most of any MP, Peter Van Loan wasn't far behind at 6th, and Barrie MP Patrick Brown was 9th. If you add the amount they spent on printing to the amount they spent on advertising, these MPs give Simcoe County the dubious distinction of having the top 3 spending MPs in Canada. Guergis's total is highest at $108,998. Brown's total comes in just under that at $108,318 and Mr. Van Loan rounds out the top three at $107,483.

Re: General Rohmer on EMS
While I agree with General Rohmer's sentiments it should be noted that the Chief Coroner of Toronto is investigating the death of Mr. Hearst because many questions were not asked in the Ministry of Health investigation. The problems with Toronto EMS will be exposed in this investigation and it will be shown that the individuals punished were used as scapegoats for the incompetence of others.
Let's wait until All the facts are in.

Socialist Councillors need to take a breather

To the editor

Don Dagenais is correct there to legal requirement to provide walkway for the disabled as of November 2009 but starting January 2010 various organizations will be required to provide unimpeded walkway for the disabled. In addition in January 2012 all business provide service will be required provide access to their facilities.

I’m surprised to find how slow the town council and the business are reacting toward the act. It’s my understanding businesses or organization could be closed temporary until the comply with the Ontarian with disability act,2001 so store with step in front or store with to narrow entrance way be warned.
