Collingwood ON, April 29/16 –
The Collingwood Brewery took home four awards at the Ontario Brewing Awards in Toronto on April 28th. Silver titles were awarded to the seasonal Vintage Ale in the Honey Beer category and Saison in the Farmhouse Blond category. Along with a silver award going to the brewery’s signature Extra Special Bitter in the British Pale Ale category, a bronze was awarded to 1854 Anniversary Ale, also in the Farmhouse Blond category. Brewery representatives were elated to be a part of the renowned awards that feature Craft Brewers from all across Ontario. To take home four awards is a proud moment for the brewery that opened in 2014.

Chris Freeman, Head Brewer and co-founder of The Collingwood Brewery, recognizes his whole team at the brewery for the honours. “We do this because we love it. It’s great to be recognized in the industry and it’s a success we get to share with the whole team. It takes everyone’s enthusiasm and dedication to create the environment for success so these awards are thanks to the whole team at The Collingwood Brewery.”

The Collingwood Brewery is currently brewing this season’s Saison and the eagerly awaited 1854 Anniversary Lager: Kellerbier, to be released at the 2nd Anniversary Party at the brewery on May 21st. The brewery hopes locals and out-of-towners alike will attend to celebrate the two successful years of making craft beer locally. The Collingwood Brewery is a hidden gem in Collingwood and if the Ontario Brewing Awards are any kind of a suggestion, it won’t remain hidden for much longer.

You can find out more about The Collingwood Brewery by visiting the brewery at 10 Sandford Fleming Drive, where you can try samples of the award winning brews offered on tap.
