Meaford Public LIbrary presents An Evening with Linden MacIntyre
Veteran CBC broadcast journalist and writer Linden MacIntyre will appear at Meaford Hall on October 2 as the special guest for the Meaford Public Library’s annual fundraiser. The event begins with a reception at 7 pm with the presentation following at 7:30. MacIntyre is both a talented journalist and author. He has won ten Gemini Awards for his work on the Fifth Estate and other CBC radio and television work. In November 2009, he was awarded the prestigious Scotiabank Giller Prize for his novel, The Bishop’s Man. In March 2012, Random House Canada published his latest novel, Why Men Lie, a gripping and poignant work which explores the complexities and contradictions of relationships between men and women in middle age. CBC broadcaster Christopher Thomas will be the host for the evening which will feature a one-on-one interview between Thomas and MacIntyre. Meaford Public Library CEO Cathie Lee says, “We are honoured to have such a distinguished author and broadcaster at our fundraiser, and look forward to filling the Opera House in support of the library.” Tickets are $23.50 + HST and are available at Meaford Hall – meafordhall.ca.
